Romantic Reception

I had the privilege to photograph a reception a little while back. Life's been a little crazy lately and I forgot to post the pictures here! Anyway, it was a beautiful day and we had a wonderful time. Everyone was so happy and easy to work with. The location was very neat--I loved the juxtaposition of the industrial setting and the formality of the event. I just love getting to photograph love. It's so rewarding!

New Nifty Fifty!

 I recently got a brand new 50mm 1.8 lens that I'm very very excited about. I love my 200mm a lot, but there's just this charm about the 50 that I can't get over--I never want to take it off my camera! Since the 50 is not a zoom lens, my feet are the zoom. This makes me really have to think about my composition a lot more. I think, in time, working with the 50mm will make me a better photographer. Enjoy some of the recent pictures I've taken!

Hearts and Handmade Things

I had the pleasure of second-shooting for a friend's gorgeous wedding this weekend. It was really like a dream...I got to sit back and photograph everyone acting naturally and really take in the beauty of the day.

There was so much happiness in the air that I was in tears only a few minutes after arriving! (Good thing I bought that waterproof mascara...)

Almost everything at the wedding was handmade--and it was really impressive! I couldn't get enough of this bouquet. :)
